An older guy I know around Southeast Virginia was asking me if I'd ever heard of Pete Wade. It seems they played some together around the Norfolk area some years ago. I told him I'd go on the SGF and see if I could locate any info on him. Is Pete still alive? If so, where's he living now and is he still active in music? I won't give out any info to the guy if he doesn't want me to. The fellow asking is about 77 years old and named Jim Johnson (fiddler).. Thanks, JH in Va.------------------

Pete is very much alive and still playing sessions etc in Nashville. In fact, you can buy Pete's instrumental CD through Earnest Tubb's record shop in Ft. Worth, TX (where I bought mine a few months ago). This past year I believe, Johnny Cox went back to Nashville to play on a session with Pete Wade...Johnny could tell you more...Pete Wade fast become one of my favorite session players as he played on numerous sessions for the Lowell Lundstrom Ministries albums in the 70's. That was first time I saw 'palm pedals' on a 355 Gibson...he is one smooth player!! |

Pete is a neighbor of mine, same street two blocks up from me. Whenever I see him out cutting his grass I stop and say hi. |
