![]() Hi guys, I'm tryin to learn Adventures in Paradise and it would be a big help if I had the chord progression. Anyone know it? |

![]() I learned this recently from a recording that sounds like Jerry Byrd. Actually that version was a half step lower, key of A flat.

![]() Earnest is 100% correct with the chords, BUT in most cases the vocal version is in the key of 'C'. AND there are those who insert a bar of 2/4 every now and then. After bar 3 and 11 and 27 a 2/4 bar of C, or alternatively you could count the Db in bars 3,11, and 24 as the 2/4 bar and increase the next C's to 4/4..as in .. Adventures in Paradise C . . . | C . Db . | Db . C . | C . . . | F . G7 . |G7 . . . | C. . . . | C . . . | Ab7. . . |Ab7 . G7. | C . . . |G7 . . . | or this version Or Bing's GREAT version. (DON'T ask for the chords of THIS version unless you know Nelson Riddle personally) Bing Crosby from the album 'Return to the Paradise Islands' [This message was edited by basilh on 25 March 2006 at 10:57 AM.] |

![]() Andy, Rick's transcription is a MUCH closer progression than the 'Basic' one I posted, and, it allows accentuation to all of the relevant parts. Only one other point to make, if you follow Jerry Byrd's Hawaiian Guitar part as played by him or as directed by him on the "Byrd's Nest Album, you will be ignoring certain notes that are part of the words (Lyrics) and you MAY alienate yourself to the listener who is comfortably familiar with the definitive vocal versions ( i.e. Crosby, Apaka etc. ) that are known in a less specialist field than that of Hawaiian Guitar. |
