Has anybody else any experience of using these amps with steel guitar? I'm using one at the moment and I love the sound of it. |

I've considered picking up one of these amps. They're not very collectible, which means they're available relatively cheaply.
I haven't done so yet because I really don't need another amp I don't use sitting in the garage.------------------

The Fender 75 was built in '82. It was Fenders attempt of channel switching. The design of Mr. Riverra. It combines point to point wiring with solid state. I have a Fender 30 and it doesn't have enough umphh
to it. Your 75 is more powerfull. I think
Fender has the best reverb sounds.
A 15" speaker would make a big difference. ------------------

Two handy things with the 75 are that it can be switched to low power (25 watts I think) if necessary plus the channel switching allows distorted sounds without putting an extra pedal between the guitar & the amp. The reverb is great too. |

I have played steel thru 3 diff Fenders over the years. First a Super Reverb later put 15" JBL in it much better. Next a Vibrosonic w 15" better still. Next a Fender Blues Deluxe 40 watts w/after factory 15'' JBL, not a powerhouse but great sound. For more juice I play either and Evans or my Webb w/ 15's. I did 40 shows with Patsy Cline tribute show last year and used Fender Blues Deluxe w/15' sounded great and it was enough for that gig. Fenders are fine. Evans or Webbs are better,
