I just got one of these to use primarily as a headphone amp. Has anyone come up with any settings/patches that work well for steel? |

b0b has one and he posted some settings. I posted mine too, but that was some time ago. I use mine every day for practice. I love it.I think I started with the "Wes" preset and made some custom effects that sounded about right. I named them STEEL1, STEEL2, etc. Ended up with 4 or 5. You can do a search using Pandora and find the discussion. ------------------ Sho-Bud Pro II Custom, Sierra Artist S-10, Fessenden S-10, Session 2000 |

Does the Pandora have a digital phrase sampler? If so, how much will it slow things down and does it work well??? |

I haven't put much effort into that feature, but when I tried for a few times it seemed to distort the sound to the point of being almost worthless. That's my very limited experience with it for slowing down a phrase.
To answer the question directly, it does have a short duration (5 or 10 second) sample recorder and playback feature with slowdown, but I don't find it very friendly. ------------------ Sho-Bud Pro II Custom, Sierra Artist S-10, Fessenden S-10, Session 2000[This message was edited by David Weaver on 25 April 2001 at 07:13 AM.]

Cartwright,Yes. In it's "Phrase Trainer mode" you can record a phrase through a connection from the AUX jack, and it repeatedly plays it back. You can slow the playback down, without affecting the pitch. The playback speed can be adjusted in 5% steps down to 25%. Of course, quality degrades as you slow down the playback. I am finding this to be a nice little device. Tony |

Thanks Tony One more question: How long a phrase will it sample? I think I need one of those things...how else am I going to learn "Stratosphere Boogie"?!? |

Cartwright,In the "SHT" (high quality) recording mode, up to eight seconds. In the "LNG" recording mode up to sixteen seconds. Tony |

CT - You might want to check out Reed Kotler's digital transcribers. They are the best things on the market, IMO, for phrase sampling, almost unlimited slowdown, pitch control, and between 90-120 seconds of sampling (depending on sampling resolution). I use mine daily and wouldn't trade it for anything else that I've seen out there. $0.02. |

Steve, Thanks a million. Thanks to your tip, and a little surfing, I've found what looks like a dream come true. The TR-1000. Is this the one you have? I found one for $189...sound reasonable? Or should I buy the cheaper one? Wolf Marshall loves it. An endorsement from one of the worlds greatest transcribers has got to carry some weight. Thanks Again P.S. Did I sell you a Stringmaster a few years ago? |
