I have a Kustom Sidewinder with 15" JBL.
The amp has a lot of get-up-and -go. I find the volume control too sensitive. With the volume control at 1 1/2, I have more than enough power for my small jobs. I would like to be able to turn the control more, to about 4 or 5 to get the same volume as at 1 1/2.
The other day I was playing at a senior home, and the amp controls were out of arms reach. I asked my friend to turn it up just a touch. He did, and it darn near scared everyone out of the place. Can I have the pot replaced with a finer adjustment without losing power or whatever?
Thanks
Joe

Does your amp have a (low input)? Most amps have a high & low input and the low input will let less signal into the input and allow you to turn the volume control up.

Yes it has, & thank you. I'll try that.

Joe, yes, it's an easy job. A tech can change the taper, or lower the value of the volume pot, and give you a lot more "even" variation.

No, it will not affect the total output, or the tone.
