Switch on the left side is to check batteries.Put the selector on the note "A" and press the switch on the right side--turn the calibration knob on the front until the needle is straight up. Then the tuner is A440. If you have to tune to an out of tune piano then just play an A on the piano and turn the calibration knob until the needle is straight up--now you have calibrated the tuner to another reference pitch. Don't press the button in for this. If you need a note from the tuner just switch the tone switch and turn the tone knob until the needle is stright up to get the perfect A440 tone you want. Be sure to take the batteries out and with a small flatblade scredriver bend out the little tabs that hold the batteries in. They have a tendency to bend back and loose contact with the batteries. Also some time or another you are going to have to open up the tuner and spray some good grade of contact cleaner on the switches in order to not get bad readings or poor performance. Other than that--don't drop it!!!! |
