I get many e-mail questions concerning Peavey setups on a daily basis. Here's one that might interest you if you own either the Nashville 112, a Nashville 1000 and/or a PX300 powered extension cabinet.

For applications where you need the extra wattage and the addition of a 15" speaker, connect a shielded instrument cable from the PREAMP OUT jack on your Nashville 112 to the POWER AMP IN on the PX300 or any Peavey steel amp that is equipped with a POWER AMP IN jack. Most Peavey amps have this feature. This will allow you to use a small setup for small applications, and with the addition of your external amp, you could play large halls.

The limitation would be the low end response of the 12" speaker in the Nashville 112, but there are ways around that as well.

Contact me toll free in North America if you have any questions. My number is 1-877-732-8391.

Why did Peavey discontinue the PX-300?
That is one of the most versatile products you guys have ever made. You can use almost any Good Preamp with it of your Choosing and Have a Terrific amp. I have two of them and They make up a great Stereo rig. Just went to a TL Audio Preamp / Eq when I changed Pickups in My Nashville Tele to Duncan Quarter Pounders and this combination sounds great.

I have used my two PX-300's with a Mixer for a small PA System at times. They work great as a powered monitor too.

I suspect that they would work exceptionally well with a Transtubefex also.

I'm glad I've gotten my PX300. Do I use it? Not much, almost never, but when I need it, it's awesome.

I use one or two PX300's with a Profex II and while I have have some suggestions on my playing (like practice more) I have never had a bad comment on my sound and tone. If you don't have a PX300, (and mine are not forsale - I have 4), you might think about getting one...the last ones I knew that were available were through Tar Heel Music in Smithfield NC (Rick McDuffie - is a a steel player - owner). You can get the phone through information..Also, some times Rick is on the Forum..

He had Three, I bought two of them and One blew up a week later. He replaced it and I assume sent the bad one back to Peavey. If he has more then I would highly recommend buying from Rick, a good man to do business with.

The one that blew up had to be a fluke, I know a guy up this way who has had a NV 1000 for several years now and never had any trouble. My two are not for sale either, in fact I'm about to buy two SKB road cases to keep them in when I'm Traveling.

The PX300 was originally designed to use with the Session 2000 amplifier to complete a stereo setup. But, it could also be used as a powered extension cabinet for any Peavey amp that comes equipped with a PRE AMP OUT jack.

After we discontinued the Session 2000, there wasn't enough sales on this item to justify the manufacturing of it. I agree, it is also a great product for whatever preamp that you wish to use with it.

Actually, it was identical to the Nashville 1000, as it had the same [300 watt power amp section, the same 1501-4 sb Black Widow speaker and the same cabinetry as the Nashville 1000.
