Saw an amp at the local swap shop called a Fender 75, with 1x15" speaker, noted to be from the "Rivera Era".

This amp has 2 6L6 tubes, and touts 75W.
This one had a Sunn 15" speaker in it (non-original I'm guessing).
The cabinet is tall and thin and is kinda box-ee (more like a bass amp shape).
It's on casters.

Looked like a possible good Steel amp... didn't even turn it on though.

Anybody seen, heard, used one?

The clean channel is VERY similar to other blackface/silverface fenders. Not sure on the headroom, obviously a bit less than say a twin (100 watts vs. 75 watts), any ddecent amp tech could easily perform a couple of mods to make th e clean channel more like that of the Vibrosonic (remover cathode cap on v1a etc). If the price is right, I would at least give it a try!

I second that! I had one and sold it much to my disdain now. It can be a very fine steel amp. Haven't seen too many since then either. I don't think they were very popular and may not have sold very well.

I guess this amp is scarce enough that the great Fender Field Guide
http://www.ampwares.com/ffg/75.html

has all sorts of data holes and has a 1x15 specimen that looks like it only just barely survived the Johnstown flood.

ps----no sarcasm at all intended--the field guide is aces!

I bought a 75 cheap years ago for guitar and it never really got the sound I wanted but now I use it for PSG and it's great. It's also got a switch to knock the power down to 25w which occasionally comes in handy.
