Are the emmons pedals as good as the goodrich 120? I saw 2 emmons pedals on buy and sell for $90 each.(don't know what model) that's about what the used goodrich 120 has been sellin for.
which would you prefer if you had to choose from the two? thanks

Terry:The Emmons pedals require special hardware on the pedalboard to allow a couple of pins to drop into. If you have an Emmons guitar, then you may have the hardware, if you have a different brand of steel, then I'd recommend the Goodrich since they are stand-alone units and you can buy a bracket to attach them to the pedalboard if you want. Just my $.02 worth. JB

Thanks guys. I do have an emmons guitar with the bracket in the pedal board.
I reckon I'll just wait till I can find a good used goodrich 120, since I've heard a lot of good things about them.

Terry, I have an Emmons LeGrande II and I use the Goodrich pedal with the Hilton pedal bracket. This bracket is made to fit the Hilton pedal to the Emmons pedal bar, but it also fits the Goodrich pedal.
I tried the Emmons pedal and I didn't like it because it has a spring that shuts off the volume when you lift your foot. Like a gas pedal. So, if you lift off the pedal with your right foot to hit a pedal, the volume shuts off.------------------

If your Emmons volume pedal shuts off when you remove your foot, it's out of adjustment.------------------

Terry, I bought my Goodrich 120 in 1977 (back when they were polished aluminum, so much better looking!). It was a huge investment for an 18-year old student, but one I have never regretted. Two new pots in 27 years, that's all. Using one with a Legrande (as I do now), some sort of mounting bracket is necessary. If it just stands on the floor, the little tabs sticking out from the guitar's pedal bar can easily get in the way of volume adjustment - they block the last half inch of travel if the volume pedal comes to close, which could leave you in plenty of trouble on a gig. So it needs to be raised a little. I guess the Hilton bracket would do the trick. --------------------

when I play my Emmons, I use an Emmons volume pedal.
When I play my Sho~Bud, I use a Sho~Bud pedal.
Isn't there some kind of law that says this is what you have to do?!?!When will they start building the "Hilton" guitar?
