I'm certain we've talked about these amps before..Is anyone using one for Steel on gigs ? They are light, loud and sound great. Maybe a stronger 12" speaker would give it a tad more depth..every time I practice thru mine it always amazes me... Maybe 2 would be the ticket ? These amps really have that classic Session 400 tonality maybe just not enough uumpphh... I have been woodshedding with this amp and the old PROFEX with an EQ/Delay/RVB patch I wrote and this really sounds good...at least to me... thoughts ? oh..and these little 65's are killer Tele amps too... t |

I played one of those for years. I only got rid of it because my fiddle playin' buddy wanted it. It had a sound he had been looking for, so, I sold it to him.I played a Strat through it. Never had the chance to try steel through it, though. Great amp. Never had a problem with it, ever. Les ------------------

I had 2 Bandit 75 amps, I just sold one of them a couple of weeks ago. There're a nice amp for steel, but of course, not as loud as something like a Nashville 400. I think the used Bandit amps might be the best value for the money. I usually use a Profex II or tubefex into the "power amp in" jack on the rear. I also like the Bandit as 1/2 of a stereo rig, along with the NV 400. |

I have a Bandit 112 which I use for a practice amp. My steel guitar sounds good through it. I honestly do not think it has enough output for some gigs I play. I don't like to run an amp at full volume because of the distortion and hum (in some locations).
I normally set my NV400 gain controls at 50-60% and it works for me. If you have a way to run through the PA, a small amp can work for you..........JD |

Well since my last post I sold my N1000, bought another very clean mid 80's N400 ( thank you Buster Warren) and an old Peavey PROFEX. I wrote a simple Delay/Rvb patch and fed the stereo outputs to both the N400 and the Bandit 65.All I can say is.."Awesome "... Stereo Delay is a very nice thing... But you all already knew that... I will be changing the 12" speaker in the Bandit 65 with something that has a bit more guts on the bottom end.. Nice little amp..well priced on the used market as well.. But changing gears here for a moment..the next new amp I buy will be the Fender Steel King..

I have a transtube Bandit, which 12" speaker, model number etc would do the job? |
