Have any of you tried the "Neo" speakers for guitar or steel? What did you think? Thank you.... |

Haven't tried the Jensens yet, but the Eminence neodymiums are great & the 15's are only 8 lbs. They handle 300 watts. The Jensens only 100. I have an Eminence in this combo shown below. |

Al, The 12" has the same magnet as the 15" speaker. Both are rated at 300 watts. The frame is slightly smaller, so the 12" weighs 7 lbs. I've actually got an extra one of those still in the box if you need. |

I've got a Celestion 12" neodymium speaker (the Century) that I like a lot. But I like it because it sounds more like a Celestion rock and roll speaker than a JBL, so it might not be for everybody. It's really light. |

I haven't tried the Jensen either, but I like the Eminence Delta-Lite neodymium 15" a lot. It's very dynamic, punchy and warm. I have it in a bass cabinet that I made, which is a clone of a Bag End S15 cab, and it's great in that application (for bass). I've been meaning to put it in one of my Steel guitar cabinets to see if I like it well enough to switch over. |

I tend to stick with WeberVST or Eminence myself.Old Jensens are wonderful (not great for steel, though), but today's Jensen's are just speakers put out by a European company that bought the Jensen name. The models, designs, and sound are completely different. Personally, I don't care for the sound - really harsh until they're broken in for LONG time. |
