I mainly use my Vibrosaonic for gigs and home practice. I have a Johnson J-Station kicking around at home for direct recording and headphone practice. Just for laughs I plugged the steel into the J-station and then the Vibrosonic. The results were quite pleasing actually. More tonal possibilities, decent sounding effects, pretty cool! It is a bit more noisy, but not too bad. I am going to stick with this sound for a while. Is anyone else going into an amp simulator like a POD or J-Station into an amp?------------------

i use a roland cube before my amp and am able to get a variety of tones and textures out of it. dirty or clean tones, with or without reverb, all kinds of stuff. my job in the band is primarily tecture and a few leads, and the cube really helps keep it interesting. good luck! |

I bought a J-station several years back - it has some nice modeling effects, but is mainly intended for recording purposes - it sounds fine at low levels used as a preamp, but you probably won't be happy with it on a live gig when the stage level requires you to turn it up. |

I own two of these. One of the best modelers I've tried. Since they are designed for guitar, that is what they sound best with. I didn't care for the sounds with my steel running through them, but different amps will make quite a difference.The J-station will sound best through a PA system. Since the models are the "coloration", any amp coloration will change the modeling sounds. Mine sound best through any PA rig. I use a Peavey PA head through a 4x10 cabinet and it is excellent.
At church I run direct to the PA, as well as on Christian Contemporary gigs where I run through the PA as well. On all these gigs I play electric guitar. My PRS, Fender Strat, and Ric 12 string all sound great through the J-Station. Tony |

I have a JStation. If you find the guitar models too harsh for psg try some of the bass amp models. I use mine direct as well as with an amp on the effedts loop. When on the effects loop of my mesa boogie nomad, it works much like powersoak. The wild tube animal turns studio polished, low volume, effects, noise gated. |

I use mine everyday as a practice amp with headphones. The blackface setting slighty modified works great for me. I tried it through an amp, but was a little noisey for me. Through a PA it would be good, as previously stated.
