Lefty most of the humbucker pickups today require a two inch routing to fit. How wide is the pickup cavity in your Dekley? Just something to consider.

The pickup cavities in my Dekley measure 1 3/8 x 4 3/8. I don't know the dimensions of the 710 narrow mount, but it is advertised to fit ShoBud or Mullen style guitars. Since I have a Sho-Bud I should measure it. Bob Seymour says I would be happier with the George L E66 pickups. I have read all the post about the Bill Lawrence 710, some love it, some do not. I was curious if anyone has these particular NM pickups. The better post would have been "Alternate pickups for Dekley ?". Sorry. I may just forget changing pickups at the moment.

I had the George L E66 in my Mullen, but I now have L710 NM mounted in it. I love the sound of 710 over the E66. I think it is a little brighter and brings out more detail in my tone than the E66 did. Clearer over all. JMO.

I installed 2 narrow mounts (710's) in my brothers Mullen. You have to sand each side a bit.Sounds good.

I read the post about Buddy's (Emmons) new guitar, and he has the 710's in it.
That says a lot. Thanks for the information from all.

The only difference between the "wide" and "narrow" mount is the actual mounting plate for the pickup. The 710's I have are 1 3/8" wide and 3 15/16" long and approx 5/8" deep (not counting the mounting plate).

You need to be able to mount the 710 pickups at least 3/16" below the strings. Too close and you will get distortion and too much highs
