Bob Knight: Your posting of the list of LP's - CD's that this song has been released on, got me thinking. Wouldn't you have liked being the writer!!! The song was a "single", "tons of radio airplay", and "released on 7 or 8 LP's" (CD's). I would be interested in knowing the publisher-(I believe Harlan Sanders wrote it). My first guess is "Algee Publishing". Owned by Billy Sherrill(George's Producer at the time ) and Al Galico.

Tommy,
Tennesse Whiskey was written by Linda Hargrove and Dean Dillon, I couldn't locate any info on the publishing. It has been recorded 25 times, 12 of them by David Allen Coe, 1 by M. Haggard, 10 by the Possom, and a couple of others.

I did find the publishing information, You are right Algee was the primary publishing co.

Wow, I didn't know Harlan Sanders was a songwriter. I thought he was just the chicken dude.

Okay Boys! I was wrong about the writer, although I did say: I beleieve.

Harlan Sanders was the co-writer of: "If Drinkin' Don't Kill Me(Her Memory Will)", and several other major label recordings.

But,......

It's "Harland" Sanders who was the chicken dude.
