Henry- "Garnegie" (Carnegie) Hall is a great document of the Buckaroos at the top of their game; all play great on it, and Tom is fantastic. It is one of my favorite albums, and I recommend that if someone doesn't have it they need to go immediately to sundazed.com and get it...

I just post this to share a shiney moment from another of _my_ favorites, that I think fewer folks are aware of.

Check out Chris Isaac's "'cept the new girl" with Tom on steel. I think it's on his San Francisco Days album. The smoothest he's ever played IMO. Anyone heard this?

Hey fellow steel guitar lovers:
Really great to hear all the praise for the number one steel guitarist on any of Buck's recordings, in my opinion.Good to hear of Tom still active in the business. Keep up the great work, Dave.

If you like Tom Brumley, check out his work with Robbie Fowlkes on , "The Buck Starts Here" and "Rock Bottom". Also, the work he's done with Dwight Yokam, like "The Only Time I Feel The Pain"; Dwight co-wrote this one with Roger Miller. Such tasteful steel work!

Well deserved & overdue topic.

Hi Dave,

Wonderful cut. Some of my other favorites of that ilk are "Just Like A Woman," and "Louisiana Man." I think Tom is the best I've heard (maybe tied with Lloyd Green) at inventing and playing single string licks where he goes up 4 or 5 notes on one string. Tom always plays tastefully and beautifully.
