Hello everyone. Just wanted to post a note to introduce myself. I am new to the forum and to the steel guitar. I have been playing flat top and tele for about 20 years off and on. One of my mentors that has since passed away used to have a Serria 14 string that I plunked on some about 18 years ago. The job I have doesn't leave much spare time to play and practice but I have always loved the steel guitar. I'm a fan of old and new country. (Buck Owens, Merle, Jones, Strait, Brad Paisley etc) This forum is great. I have just a starter steel a Sho Bud Maverik blonde birdseye maple S-10 3+1. There isn't many music stores that have a large selection of used steels in south central Mississippi or I haven't found one yet. Hope to trade up soon to a Pro II.

Welcome aboard Darren. This forum is great. How far are you from McComb? There's a great player there named Reggie Duncan. He's on the forum also.

I am about 45 minutes from McComb. I live about half-way between Hattiesburg and McComb just off Hwy 13 North of Columbia.

Go to Music City Instruments in Magee, Ms. Great folks and they always have steels for sell. Bought my Zumsteel from them. They also put on a steel show twice a year.
