Thanks Jody. It has been 50 years since I last saw Luke but from my best recollections that has to be him in the picture. It saddens me know that he is gone but at the same time brings back good memories seeing his picture and remembering the lessons he gave me on the lap steel. Several of my close friends took lessons from him also. My mom and dad used to go with me for my lessons and of course they would always get him to play some of their favorite songs on the steel guitar before we would leave. He was an excellent player.
Thanks to you again for bringing back some good memories to this old man.

Mel
You are most welcome. Those of us who knew Luke loved him. I think of him often and thank you for your reply.

My Best always.

Jody The Lyrics to Stars fell on Alabama are beautiful.Perhaps I can e mail Donny Hinson one my favorite Forum members to post the lyrics. Mel you are not old, from your words, you are Young at Heart and that's all that matters. I wish you the best of health.

Is this the one, Jody?

Stars Fell on Alabama

We lived our little drama
We kissed in a field of white
And stars fell on alabama
Last night

I can't forget the glamour
Your eyes held a tender light
While stars fell on Ol' Bama
Last night

I never planned in my imagination
A situation, so heavenly
A fairy land where no one else could enter
And in the center, just you and me

My heart beat just like a hammer
My arms wound around you tight
And while stars fell on alabama
Last night
