Author | Topic: Fender Vibrosonic Reverb Tube Amp. Package deal |
Ray DeVoe Member From: Columbia, Tennessee, USA |
![]() Up for sale is one of my mid 70's Fender Vibrosonic amps. ( serial # F 114500 )The chassis has been installed in a head cabinet. I am selling original cabinet and speaker with it as a package deal in case someone wants to re-install chassis in original cabinet. This is the rare 135 watt @ 8 ohms output model with bi-linear transformer which allows you to run two 8 ohm speaker cabinets by way of a second tap on the transformer. This head cabinet amp is in beautiful shape. The tolex on the original cabinet has some tears on the front edge as portrayed in the picture but is not in bad shape overall. The speaker included is the origianl Fender 8 ohm speaker. Asking $775 plus shipping for the head alone. Please refer to the pictures inserted in this ad. Its time to lessen my amp inventory. This still leaves me with 3 Webbs, 2 Evans and 1 other Vibrosonic in original cabinet. Thanks

![]() This amp really talks. It puts out a lot of power as even acknowledged by the repair shop. The amp is hand wired and built with a lot better quality than the new Fender reissues and has the true Fender sound. It will run circles around the new 85 watt circuit board reissues being marketed today. Thanks [This message was edited by Ray DeVoe on 25 June 2005 at 05:01 AM.] [This message was edited by Ray DeVoe on 25 June 2005 at 06:04 AM.] [This message was edited by Ray DeVoe on 29 June 2005 at 04:34 PM.] |

![]() Come on guys, somebody must need this amp. Ray is a great guy to deal with, and his equipment is first rate! |

![]() Setting things straight. Hi Forumites. I have received several offers on just my original cabinet and speaker. I appreciate these offers but I do not wish to sell these unless my Head cabinet and chassis were to sell first and the buyer had no interest in the original cabinet. My reasoning for this is that I have a lot more money invested in this unit than I can recoup in the listed pricing and shipping. My next step will be to refurbish the original cabinet and put it back together as a "like new" vintage amp which I will plan on keeping in my collection, if there are no buyers. Thanks again |

![]() A big "thanks" to Eddie Thomas for his recommendation and endorsement. I just sold Ed one of my Webbs and he traveled quite a distance to pick it up. Ed is a fine player who was very appreciative of the great collection of amps I had sitting in my room. He played through everything I had and gave it a "thumbs up". I was especially concerned that I may have to bolt down my 1967 Emmons which looks great and plays like a dream. Now if I only had Ed's technique. Thanks again to a great player. ![]() I sure wish I could justify this deal but I can't because of my own glut of similar gear. What makes this really appealing is that it covers so much ground---it would take all of 10-15 minutes to remove the chassis from the head cab and install it in the combo cab. So you can have the best of both worlds depending on your whim--the head plus cab two-piece easier-to-carry rig (with either this cab or any cab of your choice) or the one piece combo cab. This is a real attractive package. Someone is going to pull the trigger soon---I can feel it. |

![]() Some day I will regret letting this pass, but I have all the amps I can afford right now. I think the 135 watt Vibrosonic is the best tube amp ever made for steel (with the exception of the Super Twin Reverb if you want more power). It will blow away a 200 watt solid state amp with rich, but clean, tube tone. A great feature of this amp over other Fenders is that it will take a single 8 ohm vintage JBL D130F. All the other Twin family amps (Twin, Dual Showman, Super Twin) are 4 ohms, and so wont give full volume with a single 8 ohm speaker. If I had this rig, I would keep it in the head cab for easy carrying, and keep the stock cabinet as the speaker cabinet. You can block up the chassis space and keep it open backed, or close up the back, add a shelf at the bottom of the opening and have a bass reflex cab. These babies are rare at any price. Whoever gets this will love it forever. |

![]() Last price adjustment before item leaves the Forum. Total package which includes head cabinet with chassis, original cabinet with speaker, and original foot switch. Terrific package price: $870 includes shipping to the continental US. Grab it while you can. Im trying to reduce amp inventory to around 5 units which still will include an Identical Vibrosonic. Thanks to all who have put a plug in for me and this unit. Ray DeVoe |
