Hi all,I just bought a Micro Cube - will try it out later tonight. Has any of you Micro Cube-owners out there any tips for settings/amp modules that are good for lap steel? (I play a '47 New Yorker). Cheers, Fred |

Ahh, the Micro Cube. What a great product. Let's see...settings. I use mine on Brit(amp simulation) tone about 2:00, reverb about 3:00, no gain, and volume all the way up. If it's not loud enough squeek the gain up a bit. I found that too much gain easly distorts the amp model, because that's what the R&R guys like. I use mine an hour a day and can go two months on batteries. I never plug it in. I take 2 lessons a week and take it with me to both of them. Play around with it and let's see how you like it. Jack |

I like the the Brit Combo setting. To my ears, it has a bit more of that old-school sound. Gain: about 8:00 Volume: All the way up Tone: about 12:00 Reverb: either none, or maybe about 1:00-2:00.Depending on the tune and vibe, I sometimes will use the JC Clean, but not too often. Great little amp for informal acoustic playing with ukulele, acoustic guitar and/or upright bass, and... those batteries last forever. How dey DO dat!?

____________________________________________ those batteries last forever. How dey DO dat!? ____________________________________________We sing with a Wednesday night ukulele group about twenty minutes away. 45-50 people meet at a pizza restaurant and we have a grand time. On returning home, I always unload the amps and instruments into the garage. I must have hit the little button in the back and inadvertantly left the Micro-Cube on. I found it Saturday morning with it's little red LED shining (I keep a Champ 25 in the house). I have used it for three weeks now on the same batteries. Evedently, if it sits idle it doesn't use much juice. I think at only 2 watts it doesn't have to work that hard. Jack |

I use different settings with different guitars. It's a great little amp with a lot of different tones. Just experiment with your guitar and see what sounds good to you. |

My favorite little amp. It's quite versitle with a wide range of tones and effects and doesn't give you a hernia carting it around. I used to have a small Danelectro that was in the same sonic ballpark but the MC's electronics are a huge step above the Dano in tone quality. Nobody's going to confuse it with a $2,000 Matchless amp but for the size and price ... unbeatable. |

Depending on which guitar...Tone, Volume, Gain at 12:00 Toggling between jazz chorus, blackface, and top-boost amp modes Adjust reverb to suit, adjust volume on guitar or plug-and-go with Fishman RE pickup. |

It will drive a bigger speaker cab (I tried it through my 2x12 I use for electric bass), I may put a speaker jack on it one of these days. I have accidently tripped the power switch like Jack said, I wish that was a little more foolproof. For settings, of course the Mesa/Boogie ('R-FIER'), with gain at 10. |
