Does anyone know what tuning Stacy Phillips uses in "Flambée Montalbanaise"? Or, even better, has anyone tabbed it?Any help would be most appreciated? Thanks! Fred ------------------ www.myspace.com/fredkinbom www.frockmusic.com www.myspace.com/ilikerecords

I'm quite sure it's high bass open G: G-B-D-G-G-D. |

Bob - Typographical error?GBDGBD (low to high) is the conventional high bass G tuning. And I believe that Stacy typically uses the standard dobro tuning. |

Highbass-G is the standard dobro G tuning, and all his instructional material is in that tuning. I believe it's also the tuning he use on most of his recordings, combined with lots of slants and behind the bar pulls.Steinar ------------------ "Play to express, not to impress" www.gregertsen.com Southern Moon Northern Lights

Thanks everyone! I e-mailed Stacy to order one of his books, and took the opportunity to confirm the tuning: it is GBDGBD as you said.He also wrote that he has not tabbed this tune yet, but may get around to it "one of these months". Whilst (I learned that from Basil) you're waiting for the tab, here are the chords. I would assume that you would have to transpose down to G. http://www.manoucheries.com/grilleaff.php?id=27 |
