Last night at the gig after the first set I looked down at my Tascam DP-01FX/CD and it displayed a message something like, HDD Write Busy, Please Power Down, and nothing had been recorded. I couldn't clear the message without just shutting it down. I loaded the next "song" for the second set and the same message popped up again about midway through the next set, with nothing recorded.

Does anybody know what that is about, what caused it and how I can prevent it happening again? Thanks.

Sounds to me like you may possibly be trying to record too many tracks at once at a particular sample rate that is too high! I really don't know the configuration of your machine but if I try to do too much at once on my Roland VS2400CD I get a drive busy message and then an operation failed, and I have to reboot and reset the parameters for that particular song. Just a guess though!!

Hi Leroy. Thanks for the reply.

I was only recording on two of the eight tracks and there was very little on the hard drive at the time. It really wasn't anything I hadn't done a hundred times aleady. So I can't figure out what was different this time.
