Mike and Jody
Both of you did a great job. All of my friends heard the show and it was really super. Do it more often.

The music was great as well as the chatter between the two of you. Tops anything I have heard.

Mike I'll be listening next week.

Good Luck.

I missed it! After looking over the song roster, I feel sick that I didn't tune this in! I am a "new" Jody Carver fan and friend and, luckily, already have the Hotclub and Godfrey CD's (sounds like they just shot up in value - although they will always be GOLD to me!). Jody - I still look forward to meeting you sometime soon. And RICK - where do you get those great pictures, album covers, concert posters, etc. What fun it is to see all of that great classic material posted. I only wish I had remembered to turn on the soundtrack . . . .

Darn-*$#@^*% . I had to take my wife to the Dentist in another town for a root canal and I missed the whole thing.

I am really upset as I had my heart on listening to Jody on the Mike Gross show.

If anyone recorded it. I will pay for a copy of it. Thanks...al

Thanks for the pics Rick, it goes well with the program.

You're very welcome - I'm just glad I kept all the cool pics and things that Jody has sent me over the last few months.

I knew they would come in handy!

It was a great show and Jody's final thank you was beautiful, thanking everyone and Mike Gross by quoting" Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle" He had my girl friend crying. Jody sure has a way with words and his speaking of his friend Sandy was heartwarming and how they met. Boy that girl can really belt out a song.

Thank you Mike, you did Jody proud I'm a fan

Sandy,Jody was right. You sing one heck of a song. You are as great as Jody said. Jody is as you know known as the Knight Of Fender Tweed, but he is my grandpop.

My, my, my, it just can't get no better. A history lesson that is also entertaining. Every time I get a chance to listen to "Sir Knight of Fender Tweed", or read a post from him, I learn something. And as stated, no better way to spend an afternoon.,my backside never got tired either . Thanks, Jody and Mike. Let's do it again real soon !

Hi
Jody asked me to post this. We are trying to obtain copies of this particular show. I had planned on doing additional cuts from Jody's past recordings, but due to excessive phone calls we ran out of time.

However if there is enough people who would enjoy this show in it's entirety I will be happy to do a repeat performance.

Thanks again on behalf of Jody. I appreciate it as well. You certainly show your loyalty to Jody and I appreciate it as much as he does.
As rule I dont play anything un-related to western swing as such. Jody handed me a cassette of his friend Sandy Erkus and we both agreed it was really great Many requests have come in for Sandy's performance
All POSITIVE many e mails from all over the world. That gal can really sing up a storm. I made an exception for Sandy and it worked out fine.

Thanks again for listening

Mike Gross

Please repeat, and give us enough advanced warning so we can clear our schedules. Better yet, put it up on the web and let us steam it whenever we want.

My Thanks to Don Sulesky for working on this program along with Mike.

It was an honor to be with Mike and I thank him for making this a happy day for me. My
emotions got the best of me as my thoughts went back to those days of those who are no longer with us.

Thanks to all of you who e mailed both Mike and myself and to those of you who called the studio. We had to omit 20 minutes of what Mike had planned due to the many phone calls and we just ran short of time.

Thanks again.

Hey Guys

I have received a number of e mail here at home from "non Forum" members as well as Forumites. The last segment after Patsy Montana and Rosalie Allen was followed up by my friend Sandy Erkus. Sandy is a multi talented gal and her musical abilities go well beyond the norm.

Most of you who mailed me asked if Sandy has any recordings on the market. No,she has not
But I'm going to see to it that she gets the break I think she so well deserves. I cant beleive that Mike playing Sandy's record would stir up this much interest.

I will if at all possible do a session with Sandy Erkus with a new cd project that will let her talent shine. "Pop goes Western Swing" Give me some feedback on any ideas you may have.I would appreciate any feedback pro or con.

She yodels great as well as singing a ballad.

Sandy is at the present time in Cancun entertaining. She has the guests looking in on this Forum and thats one heck of a plug for bOb Lee..let me hear from you people.

I'm having a tough time trying to convince Sandy to do this project..maybe your feedback will help.

I will have a limited supply of Mike Gross's show available on cd as well as cassette format.

Here is a plug for my buddy Mike.
www.swinginwest.com He does it all every Friday afternoon from 1pm until 4 pm EST and hear the best music by the best Mike Gross.

Thanks

Hey Jody,
I thought your friend Sandy sounded wonderful. When is her CD coming out?

Please reserve a CD of the show for me - and Gary Boyett wants one also. He was having 'puter problems at broadcast time . .

I thought so as well. As far as a date with regard to a cd. It will take some time. Sandy
lives on the West Coast and I live on the East Coast.I will work on the charts asap and try to approximate a date.

Gary will receive a copy as soon as I have them available. Thanks for your praise of Sandy, She's one great talent and a better and sweeter person you could never find.

Thanks
edited to add a little "sweetness" to the recipe. how many times must I add a little sugar to make this sweeter? Is this a conspiracy or WHAT?

OK, Greg. Here's that big bump for Jody.

Laurie and I just got back to the Memphis area last night after a great weekend in Benton, IL at the 5th annual Southern Illinois Steel Guitar Show. We were not able to get the "Jody Carver Special" on Mike's show -- and I'm sorry we had to miss it. That's OK though, because we already knew how great Jody is as a steeler as well as a true gentleman.

Roy.

P.S. Mike, Thanks for putting Jody out there for all to hear -- but I'm glad your show wasn't on television; Jody definately has a face for radio.

Jody: I am so sorry we didn't get to hear the show too as Roy said. I have been really sick going on two weeks now. I thought I was going to end up in the hospital. I have no doubt that it was a hit and it will be repeated! As for all those phone calls, well, considering how "Jody likes to talk" LOL It doesn't surprise me that you ran out of time Mike. I'm sorry Jody, I couldn't help myself. Jody, did you get our birthday card? Do you feel older? Roy keeps telling me you are older or is it uglier than him? LOL Love you Jody. Your friend, Laurie
