Thank you for sharing the great news about Roy. I saw Pee Wee King and his great group when Roy was a part of the group. They were a fine band, very entertaining and enjoyable. Thank you. Al

Thanks for posting the details. We will be there in time for the Thursday night jam. Chuck Whiteley, as well as my old friend, the "velvet voiced" Slim Dossey will be with us. Be sure to look us up.

Just had to let you know that Roy finished cutting his new CD which will be called: Roy Ayres Steelin' With Friends! We are getting them done now and will have them by the time we go to Seattle. This one has 6 vocals and 6 instrumentals. We will let you know when we get them in! Thanks again for all your well wishes for Roy! I may be partial but I think he deserves them! LOL
God's Blessings to all of you. Laurie

Roy sure does deserve this honor and I myself
would like to share a space on the wall with Roy at the "Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame".

Just saw this post Laurie, DUH !!
Roy, egotistical ? No Way. You've earned it my friend, it would be selfish not to let your friends know. We love to see our buddies get honors especially ones that they so richly deserve and earn. Congratulations my forum friend on this HONOR!

That is one show I wish I could attend. Roy, my friend, you deserve all the honors the steel guitar and music world could ever bestow on you. Will see you in St. Louis though. Congratulations and give all my friends out west a hearty greeting from me.

Jody & Bill:

Jody, thanks for that remark about Roy. I pray someday he can join you up there too. I think he deserves it as a pioneer and much more.

Bill, we wish you and Betty could be there too but we will see you in St. Louis!

Thanks again to all if you who took time to tell Roy how you feel about his award. It means a lot to both of us.

God's Blessings, Laurie

I'm so glad your going to be here
for your big day . I'm not sure if I will
be able to be there to meet you !
The local news paper has just printed the
dates of a bridge closure ! ( 11th through
the 15th of August ) -- and its the
only way I can get to Seattle area with
out having to travel several hundred miles .
I know Les Wamboldt ( WSHoF inductee )
is looking forward to
meeting you as well . I'm pick'n for him tonight
so I will inform him to get over there before
the bridge is closed on the 11th .

Take care & Happy Anniversary
Bob

Roy & Laurie, I sure wish that I could be there with you. Waaaay back in 1954 I was stationed at Fort Lewis (Tacoma) for awhile, and it was the most beautiful area that I have ever experienced.

Enjoy your well deserved honor and your visit to the great Washington State area.
