Bill, Arizona has that way with people -something about the air out there. Then add a room full of steel players and well, it's heaven. But, I'm partial to the South - that's my utopia! Still, I cannot wait to hear all the stories from your trip. Any chance somebody recorded the show?

I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone and seeing you next week!

I'm really disappointed that I'll have to miss it after waiting all this time. I don't suppose you can postpone it til I get back from California? I'd appreciate it.

Wish I'd learned lap steel when I still had a lap.

Bump for a reminder - this show is less than a week away. Please be careful traveling - we want everyone to get there alive and well for the main event. Take care and see you all on the Coast!!

Looks like the DSSGA is putting on another great show in Gulfport. I won't be able to make this one. Got to many irons in the fire. Playing on Fridays & Saturdays each week. However, if I get a chance, I may drop in and visit everybody late Saturday afternoon for a little while.

Bill...
Thanks for coming and entertaining at the SWSGA in Mesa this past weekend. What a tremendous job you always do, and your set with Rod Rodriguez, Ray Harrison, Al Vescovo and others was really great. I especially enjoyed "Got a Letter from my Kid today". Thanks again, and best of luck on your show this weekend. One of these days I would love to come, too.

Ole Bill done and knocked-um out in Arizona, and getting ready to do the same in Gulfport on SADDY.

Ms. Mickey said she was just bubbling to get down there to see everyone.

Sure hope you can make it Billy. I know how them folks would be though if you didn't show up Saturday night, without that great playing of yours.

And Yep,,,,, Mr J. Parker,,,,, I'll be in the wings,,,, Jest holler whenst thou gets ready. This guy is a knocked out player also.

Brother Hal gonna show off his new wares,

Van Zirkle gonna knock-um dead.

This one is gonna be one for the record books, and I'll say it again. YA'll bring-um by the bus loads. Ms Lana wants to meet you all. Heck,,,, she might even want to interview you for her show.

Come Early And STAY ALL DAY UNTIL !!!!!

You betcha Ben! I want to meet everyone. Now if you're shy - let me know and I won't talk about you too much on my show - hee hee. Who am I kidding - ain't nobody shy in the South!

I hate to say but James had to cancel his appearance due to an unavoidable schedule conflict. Uh, that means he can't get out of work. So maybe he can make the next one. Sorry you all won't get to hear him this go around - a fantastic player. But, you can hear some of his stuff on SteelRadio.com.

I'm getting down there early so I can gear up for the Friday frolic at Bill's house. Ya'll come on by and get a head start for Saturday.

See you all in about 72 hours!

Back home again folks after a tremendous time out in the far west with Billy Easton and his crew. Sure enjoyed hearing all those great players in that part of the country and especially enjoyed my short visits with the great Bud Isaccs. Pedal steel would not be doing what is doing today without that man who sent us all scratching and searching after he played the "Slowly" intro on Webb Pierce's song.
We have a pretty good line up of great players here in the deep south too. So glad for all this wonderful support. Thanks to all. Here is our tentative schedule. (James Shelton will be missed, next time though_"
Music has to start at 11:00 AM this Sat. so come early and get a seat.
I will start the program at 11:00AM. Next will be R.J. Buras & Bert Courrege(duo), Will Stewart, Jim Parker, Buck Grantham at 1:00 pm, Hal Higgins, Jr. Martin Family Cajun band, Don Helms, Ron Elliott, Joe Wright at 3:30 to 4:00 pm followed by SERA(with Joe Wright), our local ICON--Jerry Jaye with the Southern Comfort band, Winston Street and then Ivan Reddington from 6-6:30. J.R.Jones band will take us up to the meal break at 7:00 pm. The evening schedule will be made up on the spot of all that is left.
Break for the evening meal and then DSSGA will let the good times roll till around midnight or so.
And should you need directions to our very informal Friday night, just call when you get in town-228 832 6454.
Thanks again for all this great support.

My oh my! I'll make sure I'm there when the doors open so I can get a front seat. Do you have my IV of water ready? CO2? Cool rags? I'll need it!

Yes sir - this is gonna be a humdinger! I hope I don't get pulled over driving down! Think the Mississippi Highway Patrol will understand or just chalk me up as being a steel guitar groupie?

Here is a tentative schedule for our program this Sat. Really looking good too. Ms Lana, Jeff and Ben O'Dell will keep us straight.
We have to start at 11 AM. I will start off the program and then get out of the way. R.J. Buras and Bert Courege at 11:30. Following in order every thirty minutes will be Will Stewart, Jim Parker, Buck Grantham at 1 PM, Hal Higgins, Jr. Martin show at 2 PM., Don Helms, Ron Elliott, Joe Wright, SERA with Joe Wright, Southern Comfort Band with our own ICON Jerry Jaye at 4:30 PM, Winston Street, Ivan Reddington and the J.R. Jones group will take us up to the dinner break. After dinner we will have a surprise Jam and with Ben in charge it has to be a good-un, in his words.....Thanks to all again for all this great support. First song I will try to play will be dedicated to Katrina-"Storms Never Last"........
See you all Sat and maybe even at the informal Fri. nite frolic in my home......Ms. Lana, Ron and Don will be in house here too....

PS, our evening session will be headlined by the great Charlie Moore. This will be a good time till the cows come home...."Milk Cow Blues" will never sound better. and for all of you who have yet to hear Hal Higgins sing and play "How Great Thou Art" this will be one of the major events of the day.

And Charlie Moore will be the lead off player after our dinner break. And if everyone has had their fill all during the afternoon, we will just cancel the music break and have great dinner music the rest of the night....Keep yout thumb pick hot, Charlie, you are going to need it a lot.

Well now - Ya'll listen up... Here's the first order of the show - pick 'em hot, fast, and slow. Hit 'em high, strum 'em low, and tingle in the middle. You have 30 minutes each - so Bill says, but if he puts me in charge of that, utoh! We may be there all night! Can't ever get enough of that steel guitar!

And Bill, since you're up first will you play something for me? How about I Lost My Heart In San Fancisco? Aw heck - it don't matter what you play I'll love it!

See ya in a jiffy!

This will be a weekend for the memory books. Getting the music started off in this fashion with all these wonderful artists is the best ever. Had a call from the Hank Williams Museum today and they will have representatives in the house to help us celebrate the demise of Katrina.
Our Friday nite frolic in my home will be informal and relaxed. My local friends will play for Ron, Leslie, Ms Lana, Don and Hazel and we will eat our fill of southern comfort food. Have made seventeen trips to the markets this week. Better wear a big shirt Ron.
Tommy Moran will be on stage. One of the best lead guitarist in the business. This is a special treat for all of us. Tommy lost his Emmons pedal steel in the storm. He was Moe Bandy's steel and lead and band leader for many years. Good times ahead. Have to start at 11:00 AM to fit all in , so come early.
