Recieved a question about headphones, so though I would clear that up a little.
The headphones are for use so you can hear yourself pick your steel. Not that a steel is necessary, but it seems most guys want to try out the movements that JayDee is showing. You can't have each individual playing thru an amp, makes way to much noise in the room with all the guys playing something different at the same time..))) So need to have something to use like headphones that connect to your amp or powered headphones. Jim

Im a beginning player making the 5 or 6 hour drive from seattle for this. Looking forward to it . I've never been to Spokane before. If anyone could recommend some record and musical instrument stores, restaurants, or other points of interest in spokane I'd be much oblidged.

One thing our out of town friends should be made aware of is Interstate 90 freeway road work at Spokane. I understand that the going through Spokane is slow. The hotel that the event is being held at is just to the east of downtown Spokane, in Spokane Valley. Those traveling from the west into Spokane may have some delays. I'll see if I can get some updates. Duane Becker

Ben, as far as music stores there are several, Hoffmans, Marks Guitars, Guitar Center and a couple more. None, and I mean NONE know what a steel guitar is. If you ask, they will show you a steel string regular guitar. As far as food, there are several restaurants around the hotel. The hotel itself has a very good reasonable priced restaurant as well. thanks Duane...I like to visit whats left of the little mom and pop music stores, thriftstores, pawnshops, restaurants etc. I wont be hitting the spokane Guitar center or Tower records, they're fine for what they do but we have plenty of those here in seattle. Just didnt want to spend the weekend in Spokane only to find out later its the home of the worlds greatest hoagie sandwich or something...hehe
