If you click here and go down to the bottom of that page you will find Jimmy Day's and Buddy Emmons' C6 tuning charts. It don't get no better than that, hoss. Day's is pretty basic and Buddy's adds a few goodies.

So that takes care of the open tuning and pedal and knee lever changes.

If you play strings 7,6,5,4,3 you will have a C6 chord (spelled CEGAC) open. If you press the pedal shown as P6 on both the Day and Emmons charts, you will have an F9. Go up 2 frets with that pedal engaged and you'll have a G9. That's a I-IV-V progression in C, within two frets.

Another useful progression is starting with P8. C is on the 3rd fret and the chord is a C7 with a raised 9 (C7+9) -- leave out the 3rd string and it's a C7 or lower to B and it's a C9. Stay at the 3rd fret and press P5 -- that's an F9. Then go up 2 for the G9.
