Joe, I bought a used guitar which could be a Nashville LTD guitar. The owner of Nashville Ltd INSISTED that he worked on this guitar and has the parts for it. There are 3 Remington decals stuck on the guitar.When I received the guitar it was mistreated to the point I could not play it. After completely rebuilding the guitar, it is now in playable condition. The guitar is a big guitar, built solid and heavy, with big "chunky" parts. When I compare it to a Sho-Bud and an Emmons, the latter two are built much lighter.
My guitar is now playing like butter and the sound is very impressive, especially to others. It has a Danny Shields pickup. I am not 100% sure if this guitar is a real Nashville Ltd. The pictures on the Nashville Ltd website are not very clear, so I have no reference at all. Do you know where I can find decent pictures? Or even a proper description of the parts? I will then be able to tell if my guitar is a Nashville Ltd or not. Hope this helps.

Joe, I forgot to mention this: the guitar had a major design flaw. The LKL had two cross shafts because it is a reversable lever. One cross shaft was located right in front of the triple raise and lower holes on the changer, thus forcing the rods to cut grooves in this shaft.All I had to do is make the shaft much shorter, so that it does not span the whole body and now it is fine. All this shaft had to do is hold the lever plus mechanics. The bellcranks were on the other shaft. Peter |

Peter- I am sick and tired of your "Trashing" the Remington guitar you have and the people that at some point had a connetion with it. My connection with the guitar was the fact I took it in trade 2 times. Is that a crime???As stated I added pedals to meet the owners needs. Incidently I talked to the owner that traded it to me a couple days ago and he told me he had purchased parts for it from HERB REMINGTON I went out of my way to help you on the deal. . Ed, I am not aware of "Trashing" the guitar. If you read my post carefully, you'll see that the guitar plays very well now, with an excellent sound.
However, I am "Trashing" the workmanship done on this guitar. Why should YOU be sick and tired of this? Surely it wasn't YOU who mistreated this guitar? Why did the owner buy parts somewhere else? Was he not happy with the orignal firm? And which new Remington parts did he put in the guitar? I did not see any.Maybe you could help here: Would you mind asking this owner to email me? I can then finally establish the origin and history of this guitar. (Maybe it is a pre-1993 Nashvile Ltd as stated in previous posts.) My email address: peterden@global.co.za. Thank you very much. Earlier in the history of the Nashville LTD I
bought two of them. At the time they were
manufactured by Gary Rittenburg (not sure of last name and spelling) and I believe he lived in Cookeville, TN. I know nothing about the guitar today but the guitars I bought from Music City Instruments in Magee,
MS, and bult by Gary were great guitars
especially for the price. I was very impressed with Gary and wonder what happened
to him. Does anyone know? |

To Joe-Apparently the Nashville LTD owners are satisfied with their guitars-no one seems to complain. Peter- There is no reason for me to give you a former owners name.He merely traded for another guitar. He wanted a wood body instead of formica. If the guitar was "Fake" why didn't Herb go after the person selling it as a "Remington".Postings like yours only hurt people that want info, and you place the credibility of Steel "Vendors-Mfg-repairman"etc. in question consequently some potential buyers just say no and give up. Ed |

Ed, I did not ask you to give me a former owners name. I merely asked you to contact him and give him my email address. That is not the same. Please read my post more carefully, if you don't mind. Or ask someone else to read it for you. All I wanted to do is to discover the origins of my guitar. Is that a crime??? Please allow me to try and find out. And Ed, I do not HAVE to place the credibility of certain people in question. Those certain people are perfectly capable of doing that themselves.
