I've been occasionally viewing this topic with moderate interest, but now it is just getting to be frustrating. Granted, the history of Sho-Bud particularly in the last 15 years is 'complicated,' but will someone tell us who, TODAY, is building Sho-Bud guitars? The Rayline link indicates that no one has built a Bud since 2001, but Bobbe indicated that Buds have been built and sold since then. It is a very simple question: If they have been built so recently, where can I buy a new Sho-Bud guitar? And are the new guitars basically 'parts' guitars, or have people in the last few years actually fabricated parts and built bodies?Personally, I think the person to turn to for a new Sho-Bud is Duane Marrs, but that's another story... Thanks guys, John |

Seeing Fender has a renewed interest seeing profits to be made by producing thier "Steel King" amp, and with rumors of purchasing Sho-Bud (or Gretsch), or the Sho-Bud name, what a great thing it would be if they would produce pedal steels again. I work at a music store and the steel guitar is not a foreign instrument with the younger kids anymore because of the popularity of R. Randolf. The future may look bright for our steel if Fender sees it lucrative. ------------------ www.authenticrecording.com [This message was edited by Mark Krutke on 17 March 2005 at 10:21 AM.]
