Does anyone use the John Pearse Hi-Rider finger picks? I cant seem to get a decent bend (curve) in the things. Also have a bit of trouble keeping them on. I have heard some players say they really like them. Maybe you are not supposed to bend them, but they are so darn long if you leave them straight. Ahy suggestions? I have been using Kisers but tried these just for the heck of it and am not impressed at all.

Hi Martin,

I have been using Hi-Riders exclusively for many years now. As the name implies, they should ride very high on your finger: the flanks of the pick should grab the first digit behind the fingernail. The topmost part of the pick will almost touch the nuckle. The picking end can be bent to wrap around the tip of your finger. I use a relatively straight bend of approx. 45 degrees starting right after the "E" of JOHN PEARSE on the back of the pick. The tip of the pick is then almost level with, but not touching, the tip of the fingernail.

Since these picks do not dig into the nailbed I find them the most comfortable picks I have ever tried.

I've used these picks for the last two or three years and just orderd a dozen more this week. Somehow I lost a pair working with somebody last week and have had to use the old Nationals and already my fingers are showing signs of the Nationals. The high riders are the best I've used of any of them.
