I've still got my old blue LeGrande II Loafer with a Lawrence 710 and it's the only steel guitar I play anymore. Although it's starting to show some wear, it still tunes and plays flawlessly, sounds great and is utterly reliable. With 3 pedals and 6 knees and every string moving, that guitar is capable of playing anything I can think up and a whole lot of things I can't even hear in my mind. Really I couldn't ask for a better guitar. When the day comes that I buy a new steel, it will be set up just like this one.

Just received my 71 D-10, 8-5, mica body, wood necks, bolt-on changer, SN 1491 from Mike Cass.

I purchased this guitar from a player who had owned it for 30 years. He purchased the guitar from Faron Youngs steel player. Faron Youngs name and address are stenciled on the blue case.

The guitar was in sade shape but still in remarkable condition with all things considered. The case was held together with 200 mph ducking tape.

I have several other Emmons to compare this guitar with and I can honestly say this guitar has a sound and tone all its own.

Mike did an incredable job of making this guitar new again. As soon as I can figure out my ditigal camera I will post some pictures of it.

I own 2 1980 Emmons D-10 push pulls.
one Rosewood Mica, one Black Mica,
They both sound awesome.
I use only a little 'verb as an effect, and play through a Peavey Nashville 1000.

Mahhhhhhhvellous!

p.s. I don't see my friend John Widgren's name on the list here, but he's usually got at least 2 push/pulls (if not half a dozen) kicking around. John also just re-buit an old Emmons P/P for my friend Eric Weissberg up in Woodstock, NY.Add Skip Krevens,Pete Adams, and Doug Beaumier, these are guys that are all within a stones throw of my home here in Connecticut that I know are Emmons players.

I just joined y'all this week. I just unpacked a black mica S-10 3+4 push-pull from Bobbe's SGN. If the serial number is in the same sequence as the D-10's then it's a 1971.

I have a '75 black P/P D-10 8+4 S/N 2156, Its been a workhorse and put food on my table many times,One of these days I'm gonna send it to Mike Cass and get it what it deserves. It would be cool to see names associated with P/P S/N's and see how many we can account for.......

I have a 1977 D-10 with 9&7 rosewood & alum. built by Jimmy Crawford. Its one of four p/p's that I have had since 1970. Mike Cass rebuilt it last year and it works like new. I'm working on getting one back that I sold about 25 yrs. ago.

Hi Bryan, I see your fingers are as fast as ever. Bryan, which guitar did you play when you were playing with Ava Barber? It sure sounded wonderful. I still have my copy of a live show with her with an album you cut on the other side back late 70's or 1980. Great playing and great sound. Your tone sounded "just like an Emmons".

Red mica S12 extended E9 p/p, which I am converting to a universal. When I get it adjusted just right it has a good solid feel that is lacking on many all-pulls. The sound and sustain of course are the best there ever were for pedal steel, before or since. But it is very difficult to make changes in the setup, and some changes you can imagine just can't be done. And unless it is setup properly it is hell to get everything balanced and easily tunable. If someone has mucked around with the mechanics without knowing what they were doing, it is a real bear to straighten out.
