I finally got my new 12 string Mullen and love, love, LOVE it. But now I need to know what strings to buy when they need replacing. I have seen 12 U-12 sets, but no Ext. E9 sets. Are they out there and if so, where? Thanks guys. Y'all are a lot of help :-). |

Why don´t you just get a 10 string set and add something like .044 for the 11th and .056 for the 12th. Those worked fine for me.Regards, Joe H. |

I usually just buy singles and make up my own sets as the 3rd & 5th seem to be the ones which break as everyone knows so why buy sets. On the low G# I use a .046 and a .056 on the low E. The other strings are as follows: starting from the high F#.F#....013 C#....015 G#....010 E.....014 B.....017 G#....022P F#....026W E.....030 C#....034 B.....036 G#....046 E.....056 Have a good 'un............JH ------------------ Livin' in the Past and the Future with a 12 string Mooney Universal tuning. |

Right. The Jagwire set I used to sell was my own personal gauges, which weren't to everyone's liking, so I dropped them. If anyone wants to add two low strings to any of the E9th sets offered, just specify the extra gauges from the singles chart. I'll pitch in a small "Set Discount" and make the price $12.50 (including postage).------------------

I've been using G&L 12-string sets on my MSA D-12 that use a .042 and .052; they said this is their standard extended E9 set. A little light compared to y'all, but I've been quite happy. I've seen lots of love for the Jagwire strings, think I'll give those a try soon. Special howdy to Earnest Bovine! Hey Earnest, I recently picked up a Sho-Bud Pro I S-12, sure is old fashioned but sure sounds sweet! |
