Damir,

Did Mr. Papic just invent his push pull without ever seeing an Emmons, or did he take an Emmoms apart and look at it before making his 7 guitars?

Also, in which foreign country is the Promat made? My reason for asking is that I too am from Europe originally and would love to visit his workshop when I go to DEurope in the Spring fo to do some gigs. tbh

Patent on the push-pull according to Ron has not expired. Now I have never seen the Promat, I'm sure it is a wonderful guitar. I can't see where there would be a problem with making these as long as there was something different or should I say significantly different than Ron Lashley's Senior's design. Emmons has no intention at this time of producing Push Pulls from what I'm told. From what I'm told Ron Senior would re-issue the push pulls every 5 years. Unfortunately, there is just not enough demand in the push pull market. I'm glad they are still being made. I love mine, I wouldn't trade it for anything and now I wish I kept my 12 String Universal Push Pull that Bobby Boweman worked on.

Different strokes for different folks.

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that the patent for the push pull has long since run out legally. As Bobby said, there is a twenty year limit.

The push-pull patent was assigned in 1969. Patents assigned in 1969 expired after 17 years (today it's 20 years).

Thanks Bobby. By my math that would have made it expired in 1986. Almost twenty years ago. Free and legally open for anyone to make push/pulls.
