Could anyone enlighten me as to whether there is a Musician's Friend store in Dallas?.
Many thanks

MF is a mail order & internet dealie. Their retail store operation is Guitar Center. A quick search says that there's a store in Central Dallas, North Dallas and Fort Worth.

I haven't taken the time to compare the prices between Musician's Friend and Guitar Center. I would suspect that the prices at a Guitar Center would be a tad higher.

The wonderful thing about the Guitar Centers that I have visited is the fact that they will let you play any guitar you want, try out any amp you want, with any f/x unit you want. I hate going in stores that have DO NOT TOUCH signs everywhere.

Many thanks guys for a quick response, the only snag with MF is that they won't ship overseas so Iv'e got to pay them a visit.

I've always seen Guitar Center prices exactly the same as MF. Musician's Friend ships out of the the Kansas City area now. Don't know if they have a retail location there or not. Every once in a while I see a better deal at Guitar Center (like my VS-II).

M/F has a "warehouse outlet" in Kansas City, Mo. I've been there several times, when I get back to KC. Mostly (damaged) returns but they do have some overstocks, etc.

You can buy anything that is listed in the MF Catalog at the KC Outlet(if it's in stock), they just have to go get it out of the Wharehouse for you.

It's in North Kansas City, in a light industrial area on Universal, a couple blocks north of Front Street, off of I-435.

Just a technicality but it's not in "North Kansas City". Front Street is south of the Missouri River.

If you are on I435, get off at the Front Street exit and turn north at the first red light west of I435.
