would someone please draw a wiring diagram for both pickups e-9 and c-6 for a carter d-10 steel. i changed the c-6th pickup and didn't pay much attention to how it came out so i put it back and the switch turned left is for the e-9th to come on which it does and all the way right and the c-6th neck comes on and in the middle they both come on but not with total power, thanks in advanced. happy new year you all i'm thankfull for all you guys.

Robert----I play a Carter S-12 but I had occasion a few years ago to help a local player fix a wiring problem on his Carter D-10 and I got these instructions from John Fabian so I could be sure to get it right. This guitar, as you can see, had GeorgeL pickups. I'm not sure what wires you will find with Bill L or TT pickups.:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WIRING PICKUPS ON A DOUBLE-NECK CARTER:

There are 3 wires coming out of the body that go to the neck switch. They
are White, Black and Red.

Each of the George L's pickups has 3 wires: Red, Black, and Bare (no
covering). There are 2 wires coming from the Jack mounted in the END PLATE.
They are Black and Red.

The pickups should be wired this way:

When looking at the bottom of the guitar at the solder strip with 4
positions, (with the CHANGER on the LEFT side), the 2nd from the left will
be the Place to attach AND Solder TOGETHER the FOLLOWING WIRES:

EACH of the 2 pickup's Black and Bare wires and ALSO the Black wire that
goes to the Jack in the END PLATE.

The Red Wire coming from the Jack at the END PLATE AND the Red Wire coming
out out of the Body that goes to the switch in the neck should be attached
and then Soldered TOGETHER at the left-most terminal of the solder strip.

The Red Wire from the E9 pickup should be attached to the White Wire coming
out of the Body that goes to the switch in the neck and Soldered TOGETHER
using Terminal 3 or 4 of the solder strip.

The Red Wire coming from the C6 pickup should be attached to the REMAINING
Black wire that comes out of the body that goes to the switch in the neck
AND Soldered TOGETHER using the REMAINING Terminal in the solder strip.
