I need to know what size of alan wrench is needed to tune the pedals? I don't know if they are all the same size but I have a Derby. I tried a 3/32 and a 7/64. Believe it or not one was too small other was too big. If I convert to metric, that only leaves a 2.5mm, 3mm, and 3.5mm in between those sizes. I assume the 3mm would do the trick, but if anyone knows for sure, please let me know. I have to pick one up from the hardware store and don't want to be unsuccessful the second time.

Thanks,
Steve

Are you talking about one of these? I think the tuning wrench size/gauge is standard. You'd probably be safe ordering from www.georgels.com. Order 2 or 3 while you're at it - those little devils are easily to misplace in the heat of battle.

Not sure if its the same for your guitar but the one I use is similar to the one above and the size is 5mm.

It's 3/16" open end hex driver.

It's a good idea to get one of the george l's, or something similar. The hex driver I got once from a hardware store had the right nut size, but the O.D. was too thick to get into the tight spots where there are a bunch of tuning nuts clustered together.

The wall of the steel specific tuning wrenches is much thinner... plus they are smaller and easier to turn with your fingertips for precision... you can also leave it on the tuning hex nut without holding it the whole time.
