are there a special way to set up your guitar other than the regular way. such as sizes of strings, pedals, knees etc. to play gospel music? |

Robert, If you're talking about Southern Gospel or Country Gospel music, then the answer is no. The standard E9th tuning has been used on some of the greatest Gospel music ever recorded.Lem |

Robert, I have played a lot of gospel music and use the Emmons setup on my steel.I travelled with a Christian Country group for a while and everything was played on the E9th tuning. |

I agree, the best Gospel music IMO, has a steel guitar in the mix. I can remember the Happy Goodman's, The Hinsons, and several more Gospel groups that had steel players in their band. The steel guitar can sound just as good in a Country Gospel group as it can in a traditional country group. PURTY!! I play for a Gospel Trio, and while on most of the songs I use E9, there are a few that the C6th sounds good on.
