Hey Guys,
I made a visit to Bobbe's store recently and tried out the '66 Emmons bolt-on he has for sale. Wanted to see how it played compared to mine & Danny's. Well let me say it passed muster and very well I might add. It's a HOSS!

If any of you have ever wanted a rare and hard to find '66 Emmons, it's time to get on the bandwagon. I played this guitar myself, compared it to several others in the store, and to put it plainly. . . .THIS HORN HAS BALLS! This is not a put down to any other guitar in Bobbe's store, but Danny & I both agreed, theres just a MAGIC about the sound.

Heres my '66 D-10, My all time favorite guitar. Also, It was a '66 Emmons that Dicky Overby was playing last year in St. Louis that got everyones attention.

Allen my great friend, The promat is just as wonderful, the only difference is that the Promat is Metric, and new.

Alan,
The Promat does play very clean. It has great action, the knee levers feel good, however theres a little more travel on the E9th pedals than I like. I'm sure some adjusting & tweaking back in the shop could fix that. Also the Promat tone is good, but even with my bad hearing I could tell a difference. To me, not as warm as the '66 Emmons. I think the Promat sounds somewhat like the late '78 & '79 P\P if you compare the guitars side by side.
Something to keep in mind about the Promat is the price. The guitar is well worth it's manufactured price, however shipping it over here to the U.S. makes it much too expensive for many who want a new P/P. And in the long run the re-sale value of the Emmons will still be more because of it's heritage. Nick
