I went to see Zubin Mehta conduct recently, but nobody was dancing and the orchestra's General Manager was standing in the wings with a baseball bat, so I left quickly, before things got really ugly.

Bruce, I totally agree with you,,, and David, I voiced my opinion. I don't play violin, I don't play piano, and if I'm correct, this is a steel guitar forum. As far as "we aren't talking about songs", if you are saying this isn't a song, I totally agree. (Ha!) These aren't songs in the realm of great music, (my opinion again).
David, I doubt that you have "wasted" any of your life enjoying any part of music. Anyone that loves "Flight of the Bumble Bee" is enjoying what is music to them. If you love it, wonderful, I'd just rather hear Porter Waggoner sing "Carrol County Accident" (yea right, naw, I think you won this one, I'd rather hear Flight of the Bumble Bee")
I gotta' go practice my scales and I thank you for rising to the bait, I highly respect your opinions, and humor.

I can play "Steel guitar rag" and "weave a lei" on my Hammond B4, but I don't, because somehow it just ain't the same.

Here's how--Just use you left hand, the bar only, no picking. On 1st fret, bounce bar on string--on,off,on,off,over and over, really fast. You choose the string to use--depending on the sex of the bee. Sounds like a Bumblebee to me. Joe

I think if I was to attemp to play the FOTBB
I would take extra medical insurance, if I didn't end up with arthritis I'd end up with brain damage. See you in September Bobbe at Buckden, a lot of us are looking forward to seeing you.
Dave.
