Players:
I just ordered a HWP Mullen D10 8+5 from Herby. I did own a pre Royal Precission Mullen D10 that I purchased new in 1989.
If all things were equal between the Royal
Precission and the HWP Mullen, the HWP is a better value. The options that Herby's guitar offers, polished pedals, tone control
and special pickup would make the RP much more expensive. I tried a Franklin a Carter and a GFI after selling my Mullen and none came close to the Mullen guitar.
If anyone out there might be interested in a new guitar check with Herby. The HWP is a great guitar with value that will be there down the road if you ever want to sell. Talk to any Mullen owner. I bet they will tell you the same thing.

Bill,
I do agree 100% that the Mullen HWP model is a great guitar. I sure hope you are right about it holding it's value. I have one just a year old and have it listed on the forum now but I am not getting any interested pickers as yet

After trying for years to get a decent, dependable, sound from this PB steel of mine, I finally got to play a Mullen RP. It knocked my hat in the tank, and so I ordered one. The action is as smooth as butter, and I'm now soon to be a happy Mullen owner. No doubt about it, Del hath done his homework.

Yes, Bill, you are right. For my taste the HWP model Mullen is without a doubt the finest guitar I have ever played for tone, sustain, action, staying in tune, string breakage and much more. If anyone is interested, please check with me as the HWP is a special order model only sold through my shop.

Even though I'm not a Mullen player, I truly believe that Mullen has the best changer I've seen on a PSG. Don't mind telling you I'm a Carter man but the Mullen changer, in my opinion is the #1 changer I've come across. Also, every Mullen guitar I've set down behind have all been excellent guitars. I'll probably add one to go with my Carters one day.

Clyde:
I purchased a D10 Mullen from Billy Cooper in 1989. I sold it 12 years later and got within $400.00 of what I payed for it. I know the old Emmons and Sho Buds might do better but the Mullen is still in production. I thought I did pretty well. If only my used car would do that.
The Mullen is smooth to play, stays in tune and has tone that anyone would be proud of.
I, however, ordered my new one with Herbys
single coil pickups. I had E66's in my first one. Don't know how I will like that but no problem to change.
Thats my opinion. You know what people say about opinions. They are like @$$ holes and everyone has one !!
