Does someone know the size of Sierra pull rods? They look 3/32 but I am unsure. |

tb, the older Sierra pull rods (Crown etc.) up to about 1992 were 1/8", the newer ones (Session) are 3/32". The same goes for the inner diameter of the plastic tubes at the changer end.Rainer ------------------ Remington D-10 8+7, Sierra Crown D-10 gearless 8+8, Sierra Session S-14 gearless 8+5, '77 Emmons D-10 8+4, '70 Emmons D-10 8+4, '69 Emmons S-10 6+5, Fender Artist D-10 8+4, '73 Sho~Bud LDG 3+4, Peavey Session 400 LTD, Peavey Vegas 400, Line 6 Variax 700

tb, there are 3 kinds of tubes at the changer end - the Sierra manual calls them "nylon bushings". 1. 1/4" with a crosswise hole 2. 3/8" short bushing 3. 1/2" long bushingA raise rod takes a short 3/8 bushing plus the 1/4" bushing, mounted crosswise (touching the changer finger), while a lowering rod has an additional long 1/2" bushing (= 3 bushings total). The length of the bushings is identical for the Crown and Session models, the diameter is different, due to the different diameters of the pull rods. Hope to have helped, Rainer |

Thank you Rainer. When putting threads on 3/32 rod for a Sierra how much of the rod should be threaded - 1" ?? |

You can use the length of the thread from the other other rods as a gauge. Also, If you put the rod in a vice to hold it while making new threads, make sure you protect it with plastic or rubber stripd so the rod won't scratch or distort. Been there & done that... |

tb, yes, the thread is about 1" long. The tip of the rod is pointed to make it easier to screw the rod into the nylon barrel at the bell crank.Rainer |
