I'm very excited about my new guitar, and thought I'd share a pic with you all. It's a p/p U12 that sounds FABULOUS!!

Jim, it's 103 S. Do you know what year it is? It has the coolest case ever.

Congrats, Jon. I have the same guitar in black. 6 & 5. # 148 ST. Anyone know what's up with the 'ST' vs. Jon's 'S'? The guy I bought it from 3 years ago called it "about '74". Which in this context of trying to date your guitar is pretty vague, I guess. But there you go.

oh yeah---I'll trade cases with you! Mine is beat to crap and has a handle that will cut your hand off....but it's black!

Nice try Jon! (someone kick the "h" out of you?), but I think I'll keep my case!

Nice axe, Jon. I'm new to universal guitars, but I really enjoy mine, so far.

Jon,
I used to be the owner of that guitar before Larry owned it, if it came from Larry. Now I can tell you that Bobby Bowman is the one who did the work to that guitar. It is a wonderful axe.

I have the little brother of this one.
Model S-12 #104 6x4 in flat black.
The tone pot in it is dated 1973.

Wow! That case is like a traffic accident...you don't want to look, but you have to! (Beautiful Emmons, too!)

I goofed when I looked at your first pic--my guitar is a double body with a pad--I thought I was seeing a pad there but it's your seat. Your pic of the guitar in the case makes my error clear. I imagine that's the "ST" in my s/n vs. your "S".

Jon (and Jon)
My ST-12 is S/N 124 ST-12
I was told it was a '69, but Mike Cass told me he thought it was later than that -- early '70s. I have no idea, but those old push-pull 12's sure sound nice. Never met one I didn't like. And, in some ways, the changer works pretty well with the complexities of the U-12. A lot less rods than an all pull.

Mine's a keeper. (and it's black too)

Jon,
I don't play Universal setup, but I do love Emmons P/P guitars. Got 3 of them myself. Wise investment you've made. . . . .IMO there's nothing better!
I'd love to stop in at your store sometime. Enjoy that Emmons. Nick

Thanks for all your replies! I just can't get over how GREAT this guitar sounds. Larry, your guitar is super-cool, and it's BLACK! I wanted a black one, but pickin's are slim, and I'm happy with this one. Nick, so cool to hear from you, I've heard you on steelradio. I agree, there is none better. It just has this transparent eveness???? Make any sense?? It's hard to put into words. Here's another pic:

Just ordered a true-tone pickup for this baby. I'll send the original to Jerry to be rewound. Just got a new Goodrich 120 pedal, love it. Tone heaven.
