I'm trying to get info on how to install one of these on my Sho-Bud Pro 1 (Super Pro mechanism), for the 2nd string Eb-D-C# lower. I ordered it and now have it, but I'm under the steel and it's not making a whole lot of sense to me.

Can somebody help, or point me to some reference material? A pic of one already installed woud be a God-send. I've done a search but didn't find anything specific to installation.

Thanks....

Okay, I have the piece installed that goes on the bellcrank. Now I'm trying to figure out where to screw on the main piece to the steel, on the near or far side of the next bellcrank. I'm not crazy about getting this part wrong.

My guess is it should be installed (on the body) close to the bellcrank it's attached to, in order to get the most resistance out of the spring. But it seems really close.

I love replying to myself.

Help.....

The person that sold it to you; should tell you how to mount it and hook it up to work.
If that's not possible; than you will have to show me exactly what you have in a picture and a picture of the area to install it...as there were several different ways to do it; with several different pieces...and I don't know what ya got??ha...
Or you can bring it by the house and I can install it in 5 minutes for Free...?? Oh shoot you live in Canada??ha.....well if you can get to Al Brisco; he can do it probably less than 5 minutes..ha

It's a long time since I had my LDG, so my memory is a bit hazy.
The device on my Shobud was a stand-alone spring loaded (adjustable) plunger, which was connected by a rod to a bellcrank on the relevant knee lever cross shaft.
It could go virtually anywhere there was a gap, as long as the connecting rod didn't bind on anything.
My advice, for what it's worth, is to look at the underside of your steel, and see if there are any unused screw holes (from previous mods).
If you can see any convenient holes, make a aluminium plate (about 1/4" thick) to pick up on these holes.
Then you can mount the half-tone device on the plate, with no extra holes drilled in the steel, plus if you get the thing in the wrong place, move it on the plate.
An example of using existing holes is this picture of a knee lever mounting plate on my Emmons Pushpull.

Chris,
I don't know if this helps, since it's not a SuperPro undercarriage, but this is what the halfstop looks like on a '75 LDG:

Ricky, I got the Sho-Bud from Bobbe Seymour, and the half-stop from Al Brisco on a recommendation from Stevie Smith who had played my guitar and suggested I get it. Al is a little too far away for me to ship without it costing the amount of the guitar..ha-ha. Rainer's pic shows my exact half-stop. I'm going to send you a pic later today to see what you think. Maybe you could help me post it here to possibly help others.

Rainer, your half-stop just happens to be exactly like mine. Your picture has helped me greatly. I now know what's what. I'll be using your pic as a guide to make sure I install the base correctly. Thanks.

Richard, your Push-pull half-stop is located closer to the changer end, whereas the sho-bud half-stop has to go on the other side, as per Rainer's pic. That's what I'm dealing with, there. I appreciate you showing me the pics of your half-stop, though. It's interesting to see the different kinds.

I just realized that Rainer's half-stop is connected to his string rod....mine has its own independent connection to the bellcrank, with its own rod and attaching base.

I have to post a pic of this.....

Installed. Thanks for your help, boys. Ricky approved the pics of what I had done, and Rainer's pics helped me with a few placement issues. Ya can't beat the forum.
