I'm thinking seriously about getting Mr. Simmons to build me one 3/4 S10 with pad. Just wanted to know if any one has played one and what your comments were?

Edited: sorry--just having fun with a typo. No disrespect intended, Chuck.

I've fixed the title. Could we get back on topic, please? The gentleman has a serious question.

Bob Simmons has been building guitars for quite a while, and really knows them.
I've talked with him on the phone, and he's very helpful and knowledgeable.
I think there are some on the forum who can speak for his steels firsthand.

Hi, Chuck.

I found this link: http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum5/HTML/005356.html

If you scroll down about half a page, Andy Alford talks about his. Maybe you could email him and ask how he likes it. It sounds great in his description! Please keep us posted!

I got one of the Economy models for myself for Christmas and I could not be any more pleased. It looks, plays and sounds great, and The Price was very reasonable.

Bob does first-class work. He does all the work on my Fessy, and I couldn't be happier. He added 2 KL's to mine today, and they are great! I've played his guitar and it plays very good. Bob builds some good steels. I'd give one a shot.

Bob Simmons builds some of the best steels you can buy. He built me an S 10 with a thin pad. 3&4. It plays great, sounds great and stays in tune and dosen't break strings. He also reworked ny Fessy and converted it to Emmons. Excellent technician
and stands behind everything he bulds and does. Great player and greater person. You can't go wrong with a Simmons.
