I am just wondering how many use a chair instead of a pack seat at your home picking studio?

I just recieved my new seat from Thom Beeman at www.steelseat.com. I can tell you that it works much better than a drum stool, or dining room chair. You can choose your colors, latches, etc. Alot more storage room than my previous seat and much more comfortable! |

I took my chances for years sitting on whatever was around and have sat on beer boxes,road cases etc. Then out of the kindness of his heart,Greg Leisz gave me an old beat-up GFI pac-a-seat which I cleaned up and have been using ever since.I can get way more strings,cables,picks and stuff in there than I ever could in a dining room chair. |

It's also a matter of style. It's become almost required equipment, and it looks better than a regular chair, plus you got a place for your stuff.  ------------------

I have two drum thrones with backrests. One at home and the other in our practice studio. Adjustable like a piano stool. And locks into position so you don't swivel when pushing the pedals. The most comfortable foam and fabric, period.TAMA and the back rest has many adjustments. Pick your colors, fabrics, etc. about half the price of a pack seat. But, no place to pack! |

I played using whatever chair was available at the places I was playing. I bought a pack a seat and then built several. I wouldn't be without one now. No more who knows what height seat, etc. I tried drummer thrones, both with and without a back and didn't like them. |

I'm currently using an old wooden stool that was in this flat when I moved in along with a cusion from my sofa.
It's not the most comfortable solution but I just haven't gotten around to building my seat yet.
It's certainly not what I'd use for gig's, the damn cusion falls off everytime I get up!I need to come up with an alternative arrangement by the 15 of December because I have a small private gig then.

I use an old, cheap, beat up cafe chair. I was taking my chances at gigs, but decided to start beinging this along. All my "stuff" (cables, pedals, etc.) goes in a backpack on my back, and the chair is nice and light. Lots of clearance undrneath for maneuvering cables and such or picking up dropped picks etc. Dan ------------------
