Another post made me think of this. Is there anything I can spray on my guitar to prevent it from collecting dust? I have a really dusty that's close to a major highway. It's IMPOSSIBLE to keep dust off of stuff in here. I'm talking BIG balls of dust. Everywhere. ------------------ Gary Shepherd Carter D-10 www.16tracks.com

I'd say probably not. Steels are always grounded when plugged into an amp, so the normal static charges that build up on other items (like your car-seat, or even your own body) don't get a chance to accumulate. About the only thing I could suggest is to cover the steel when you're not playing it, or keep it in the case (which should be vacuumed occasionally to keep the lining clean and free of dust and dirt). |

Spray the guitar with clean, dry, oil-free compressed air. This will remove all the dust and small particles: - even those in small crevices. Use not more 15 psi on your air gun. |
