As a lot you know, I'm a steel guitar dealer here in south Mississippi. I'm getting ready to place some orders for new guitars shortly. I always listen to players when they talk about different topics related to PSG. So what I'm asking players to do here is to list the colors they would like on a new guitar in two parts. Part 1 is mica in one color. Part 2 is mica in two colors or two tones. I'll look at the results and order new guitars accordingly. I don't order lacquer guitars because of the high cost involved unless it's a special order. At the moment, I like the dark burgundy mica and for two tones I like the black over red mica combo.

Honey Maple over Rosewood is a nice two tone. Black is always a favorite.

I have 3 Steels
The S-10 P/P is Rosewood Mica
The D-10 P/P is Rosewood Mica
The D-10 LeGrande II is Plank Maple

Roger I think Rosewood sounds better. Ha Ha

I always thought rosewood looked nice as well. The two-tone Carter Bobby Boggs just sold is also a nice colour combo.

I'm with Chris on the Carter, it caught my eye and I bought it from Bobby. I'll never get to see or play it because it shipped straight to the guy I made a trade with for a Fessy that has the same color as the Deck on the Carter. Black is good for solid color.

This is the best looking steel, I've seen in a lot of years. BTW, it plays as good as it looks!
Thanks Jeff & Duane for reviving beauty and quality in pedal steels.

I prefer a solid color guitar. Black is usually first choice followed by the typical wood grain or some of the newer stone colors.

I love my new Rains I just bought from you but would trade in an instant for a White with red aprons like I saw up aways.

I like the burgundy, or wine color (not purple), with chrome tuners, as a first choice. As a second choice I'd want a light, rich, maple, or maybe pecan, with a distinct woodgrain to it with gold tuners.

Blood Red, like on my last car, better known as "Arrest me Red". I have a light wood colored one, like Pine, that's really nice looking.

Hey there young'un, it don't matter much on color except black, cause the rest git held over the campfire of sage brush and end up black anyways. Hope this help you in your deciding process.

Billy, a black top on a Rains looks great. And either black aprons or a deep shade of red would look nice, that wineberry or something similar. Topping it off would be a cluster of a smaller version of the four rain drops on the front apron.
