Hello Everyone, I'm a beginner and have been trying to work out a few of my favorites and am looking for a bit of guidance. I was really happy to see the tab for hickory wind and you're still on my mind. Are there any other places I should look to find some of the other songs? In particular, I'd love to learn Brass Buttons. Anyone know this song? Thanks very much for your help. Jennifer |

Have you checked Ricky and Rebel's site yet? They've got a lot of tab from that time period- Here's the link users.interlinks.net/rebel/steel/steel.html ------------------ Better Late than Never! www.johnbarnold.com/pedalsteel [John can't spell to save his a$$.] [This message was edited by JB Arnold on 29 June 2000 at 04:39 PM.] [This message was edited by JB Arnold on 29 June 2000 at 04:40 PM.]

Jennifer-I'd be interested in where you found the tab for "Hickory Wind" and "You're Still On My Mind." Sweetheart of the Rodeo has always been one of my favorite albums but learning Lloyd Green's steel guitar licks by ear is more than I am capable of. Thanks,Alan |

Sounds like you are starting out with some good stuff. That (Sweetheart) was a ground-breaking album. I and a couple of friends saw the Byrds on the tour just following that album at Emory University (got in for free). They had a four piece with Clarence White on guitar (with string bender), Gene Parsons on drums and vocals, McGuinn, and a bass player vocalist (don't remenber name). They were still playing the old stuff (Eight miles high, turn, turn, turn etc.) but played a lot off the new album. Some were growning about "two much country guitar" but all I could say was "ahhhh". Sorry to ramble, but a great memory, and a great show. |

Marcus, Thanks very much for the offer, I would love to learn that intro. If you would be willing to talk me through it over the phone, I could try and tab it out for others. If I can call you, please feel free to send an email with your phone number. Or you can reach me at 615-463-0268. Thanks again, Jennifer |
