I have this change on my guitar on a lever, but it doesn't seem like to many others have it. I wonder why not? I find it extremly useful. Here are some examples:

Eks 1: - The most obvious one is that you'll get a minor triad (lowering the third.)

E minor chord.

1-----
2-----
3-----
4--0--
5--0--
6--0L-
7-----
8--0--

Eks 2: - If you bring in the 7th(lowered 2. string) and major third(3. string) this gives you a really dissonant #9 chord. Nice for bluesy stuff!

E#9 chord

1-----
2--0L-
3--0-- (major 3)
4-----
5--0--
6--0L- (minor 3)
7-----
8--0--

Eks 3: - Holding down both A & B pedals, releasing the B and then bringing in this lever gives you a nice 7. chord with a chromatic walk down to the 7th.

From A to A7

1-----
2-----
3-----
4--0~~~~~~~~~~~~
5--0A~~~~~~~~~~~
6--0B~~~0~~~0L~~
7-----
8--0~~~~~~~~~~~~

Eks 4: - Combining the lowering of string 6 and raise string 4 also gives you a nice 7 chord.
G7

1-----
2-----
3-----
4--0R-
5--0--
6--0L-
7-----
8-----

Eks 5: - Sliding from one 7 chord to another.
From one G7 chord to another G7.

1--------------
2--------------
3--------------
4--12R~~~~10~~~
5--12~~~~~10A~~
6--12L~~~~10L~~
7--------------
8--------------

By the way, I have the lowering of string 6 on my RkL, where I also keep the lowering of string 2 (D# to D)
This change is also great for playing chromatical scale patterns. I play with four fingers (picks) so that gives med the possibility of spreading my hand like in Eks 2.
Comments anyone?

Many players lower the 6th string to F# with a 1/2 stop at G, so we get your licks plus many more.

I use it all the time. I use a wound 6th string on my Sho~Bud; so I can't lower a whole tone anyways on that string. I don't miss the whole tone lower at all; and I pretty much do those same uses there. Well there are a few more uses that I do; but no time right now to plop them up here. I will after the weekend though.
Here is my copedant.

Hallo Sveinungl,
I have the changes from G# to G for the 3rd. and 6th. strings on my second LKL. How do you tune your "G" ? 440 Hz ?

Hello Waisznor. I tune the G so it sounds nice as the minor third (a bit flat probably around 440 yes). I tune the open E's and B's to 442 and the rest by ear..... My old Sho Bud professional won't be in tune anyway, so I have to compromise he he......
Thanks for the other replies, I didn't know about that half stop.
And Ricky I look forward to see those other uses you mentioned.
