Hi Anders. That song is tabbed and lists the chords in Scotty's "Anthology of the Steel Guitar" instruction book. Good luck.

I assume you don't have the Anthology of Pedal Steel. Scotty has the chords for that song in the book along with tab of Emmons' arrangement. This is from the book

Measures are separated by semicolons....the symbol / refers to split chords in the same measure....listen to hear how many beats for each chord.

F/Fmaj7;F7;Bb;Eb
F;Dm;G7/Gaug;C7/C9/Bdim/Eb9
F/Fmaj7;F7;Bb;Eb9
F/Dm;Gm7/C7;F/Bb;F/C7
F/Faug;Bb/C7;F;F/C7/Em7/A7
Dm;Bb;G7;C7
F/Faug;Bb/Bdim;F/A7/Dm/F7;Bb/Eb9
F/Dm;Gm/C7;F/Bb;F/C7
F/Faug;Bb/C7;F;F/Em7/A7
Dm;Bb;G7;C7
F;Bb/Bdim;F/A/Dm/F;Bb/Eb9
F/Dm;Gm/C7+5;no chord;Fmaj9

Hi Andy, I think it is great that you are getting your band to play Danny Boy. Scotty's chord chart is very nice and correct.I would only add another thought. You can use any 'Fake Book" chart for the band and modify your playing to work with the chart. Once the band is comfortable with the chart then you can start making substitutions . In this manner when you play over a slightly different chart you will see first hand where the 'Emmons" changes are and how they were applied to the song. Everyone in the band will get an immediate lesson in chord substitutions which they most likely will never forget. If you like I will dig out a standard fake book chart and EMAIL it to you. I have been lucky enough to have played this song with probably a dozen different bands and each band played it a little differently even though I was playing the lead line. I learned a little from each band and most likely they may have learned a little from me as well as I wasn't locked in to any single format. You are very lucky to have a band willing to play it with you.

Regards
TP

Hi fellows, thank's to all of you for the great help with these chords, and to the kind fellow who send me the "biab" file, you have all been very helpful.
we needed some slow instrumentals in the band so i suggested "Danny boy" (we are playing it a little faster than buddys version).
We also do songs like "Faded love" "I love you because" e.t.c as slow steel instrumentals and we have some faster tunes like "san antonio rose","steelguitar rag" aswell.

Anders.
