WEll the melody is: 5._____________|___________| 6.______5b__5b_|____5b__5b~| 7.____5___5___5|___5__5____| 8._~5L_________|~5L________| :repeat
But I usually add a harmony not in there. 5.________5~5a___5~5a__|______5~5a___5~5a~| 6._____5b_5b~~___5b~~__|___5b_5b~~___5b~~~| 7._____5_______5______5|___5_______5______| 8._~5L_________________|~5L_______________| :repeat
And also if the Guitar player is playing the melody(Like me and Dale watson used to do)I would play even another harmony up...so you just start one string higher. Have fun. Ricky

Thanks Ricky, That also answeres my other question. One band has no lead player so I gotta do the melody. The other one does so I'll do the harmony. |

Rickie here is another good little trick on your train songs. The best way to get a train whistle like Box Car Willie did with his mouth is If the band is playing in the key of E on the 17th fret hold the F Knee lever that raises the 4 and 8th strings a half step. pick the 8th,6th and 5th strings sliding the bar from the 16th to the 17th fret, along with a volume swell of your volume pedal. It will sound just like an old freight train. Don Curtis showed us that move one year when he was playing with Kevin Black in Centralia at the anchor fair there. He said, that Russ Wever showed that move to him. It works real good on songs like Folsum Prison Blues and I also use it on Orange Blossom special where you are using that long E chord Vamp. ------------------
